1813-1817 Tennessee Petitioner’s List
Bledsoe County, TN

In 1813 a petition of John (4/8) Miser, Tobias Long, William Bleavens, Robert Long, John Julian, and William Hail asked to be relieved of paying a criminal bond for Joseph Pate.
Year: 1813
Petition # 21
Session: # 2

At the time of this petition John (4/8) Miser, born 17 November 1779, (and husband of Elizabeth Hail), was about age 34. It is suspected that the William Hail who was a co-signer of the petition was a younger brother of John's Miser's wife, Elizabeth Hail. One William Hail/Hoil, age 40-50, on the 1830 Bledsoe County census, with wife age 30-40, and six children, is a possible candidate for the man on the 1815 Petitioners List.

By about 1820 John (4/8) Miser had gone to McMinn County, TN. None of the other men, Tobias Long, William Bleavens, Robert Long, John Julien, or Joseph Pate have been located on the 1830 census in Tennessee.
